Cordero Juncal, Music Director
Cordero began his Waldorf journey right here at the Siskiyou School as part of our first graduating class, Polaris. Like so many of our alumni, the seeds of Cordero’s passion for music were planted and nurtured during his time here. After leaving us, he went on to study at UC San Diego and Universidad de Sevilla, and music has remained an integral part of his life ever since. He is thrilled to be taking on the role of music director this year.
Though he might tell you his favored instrument is his classical guitar, he also has a soft spot for his Ibanez Q52, as well as the violin, trumpet, banjo, mandolin, bass guitar, and jaw harp. His favorite composer is Mozart and his go-to karaoke song is Dolly Parton’s “9 to 5”, but if you catch him at the right moment he might let slip that his favorite song of all time is any rendition of Robert Burns’s “Auld Lang Syne”.
In his spare time Cordero enjoys darts, classic literature, trivia nights, backpacking, and, of course, singing.
