The Siskiyou School team is comprised of full-time teachers, part-time teachers, and an administrative staff. The faculty holds and guides the pedagogical program of the school. The teachers are all imbued with a passion for teaching, a love of children, and a commitment to Waldorf education. Most importantly, they share a willingness to keep talking about the children until they reach agreement that the children’s needs are being well met. This willingness for continual self-examination and program review to best meet the children of our times is a hallmark of the Siskiyou School. The faculty is supported by the administrative team. Collegiality among the faculty and staff is high with daily sharing of experience, knowledge, support and friendship.
Class Teachers
Our eight class teachers and our Kindergarten teacher are the primary holders of their respective classes. They teach their students main lesson and some of the core skills. They oversee their students’ academic progress, guide their social and emotional development, organize field trips, and keep in communication with their parents through regular conferences and class meetings. Class teachers are the point person for their students, parents, other teachers and the administration for all matters regarding their class..

Specialty Teachers, Subject Teachers, and Class Assistants
Every day each class is taught by several teachers, in addition to their class teacher.
Specialty teachers bring handwork, music, games, foreign language, Eurythmy, woodworking, gardening, and our early ACORN science program to classes. Students generally see 4-6 specialty teachers two times a week throughout the year.
Subject teachers teach language arts and math to small groups to ensure all Siskiyou School students are met at their own level in the core skills and experience success.
Class assistants support the class teachers in grades 1- 3 as needed during main lesson and in certain skills classes. They lend a hand with everything from organizing materials to helping children with book work, with staying on track, or with a challenging moment.
