Olive Tree Preschool
(formerly known as Peace Garden)
Olive Tree Kinder Preschool (formerly known as Peace Garden) is a unique blend of bilingual Waldorf-inspired education, rooted in universal values found in Judaism. Within this tradition, we blend the magic of the young child's imaginary world, with a natural setting for a child to learn foreign languages in a home-like environment, through storytelling and song, and daily rhythms, ritual and holidays. This timely exposure to languages not only comes at children's prime for acquiring languages as mother-tongue, it also plants a seed in their hearts that will grow a strong and loving community culture, which welcomes cultural diversity and honors the value of every living soul.
Under the shade of a towering black walnut tree, our mornings follow a nurturing rhythm filled with the delight of indoor and outdoor creative play in our expansive garden, baking, cooking, watercolor painting, arts and crafts, felting, sewing, singing and movement circle, stories, and gardening.
Ruth is a mother of 4 strong and active young daughters and has 13 years teaching experience working with early childhood age, elementary, middle and high school children (ages 2-18). With a MA in Education, she has taught ESL, foreign languages (Spanish and French) and Handwork in diverse classroom settings in the US, Korea and Israel before relocating to Ashland and becoming the 1st grade Class Teacher at the FolkSoul Farm Waldorf Grades Program. She is grateful to embrace the wonder of early childhood education bringing the songs, sounds and stories of the earth's folks into the hearts of the children through the languages of the world.
We offer an optional 5 day program, Monday- Thursday 9-1 pm. Fridays 9-12 pm. Communal meal times: Snack and a warm lunch are provided.
